EDS – System Architect for Delphi Cost P&L Project

 

·      Was a system architect for the Global Cost Profit & Loss System for Delphi Automotive.  This is a corporate finance application deployed worldwide across all Delphi divisions. The system is a multi-tier, Java application.

EDS - Java/Web/Object-Oriented System Development Consultant

 

·      Provided technical direction, mentoring and training in the areas of Java/CORBA/Web application development to many areas within EDS.

·      Achieved Sun’s Java Programmer and Java Developer certifications.

·      Taught Sun’s Java Programming course (SL-276) to people throughout Electronic Data Systems (EDS).

EDS - System Architect for Solar Exposure Lab System

Was the system architect, technical leader, and Java specialist for the all-Java “Solar Exposure Lab” system at the GM Desert Proving Grounds in Mesa, Arizona:

·      Led the "Solar Exposure Lab" team through object-oriented analysis, design and development, using the newly created Unified Modeling Language.  Used Rational Rose as the modeling tool, and Objectory (predecessor to Rational Unified Process) as the development process.

·      Taught Java to the "Solar Exposure Lab" project team, and mentored them in several other technologies throughout this eight man-year project.  These technologies included CORBA, JDBC to an Oracle database, serial communication, and Web application design/development.

EDS - Java/Web/Object-Oriented System Development Consultant

 

·      Was responsible for research, mentoring, conducting training, and developing proof of concepts in emerging technologies such as Java and mobile agents.

·      This was the first book on the market with solid examples of Java 1.1 features. Was also a contributing author to the JavaBeans Developers Reference by the same publisher.

EDS - Information Technology Leader for Delco Electronics

 

Was a member of the Delco Electronics Information Technology Direction group.  This team was responsible for setting  IT direction for Delco Electronics globally.  Assignments included:

·      Leading the evaluation of development tools, methods, and technologies, such as cross-platform development and data warehousing.

·      Developing proof of concepts in emerging technologies such as Web-enabled application development and Java.

·      Contributed to the technology policy for Delco Electronics distributed applications.

 

Feb 1992 – Jan 1995

EDS - Technical Leader, Indiana Technical Support Center, Kokomo, IN

Was responsible for client/server system design and development, and mentoring others in emerging technologies such as GUI design, object-oriented development, and client/server development:

·      Was the technical leader for a three man-year project called “Robot Emulator.”  This system replaced expensive robots with a computer in low-volume situations.  This was a completely object-oriented project, developed for the then-brand-new Windows NT operating system, using features of the Win32 API such as multi-threading.

·      Created and presented short symposiums on various leading edge technologies such as object-oriented design, client/server concepts, and GUI development.

EDS - Technical Leader, and SE Supervisor, EDS/GM Marion Plant

·      Was responsible for plant floor/business system design and development, and mentoring others.  Development languages included VAX PL/1, Allen-Bradley PLC-3 ladder logic, and Visual Basic.

Independent System Developer

 

·      Designed and developed many different systems on various hardware and operating systems.  Examples include a warehouse/purchasing information system for a retail chain, a golf course management system, and an accounts payable/receivable system for a construction company.
